Providence ST. Vincent – Portland, Oregon

A linear healing garden for a new Oncology Building located within the Providence St. Vincent Campus was designed by Shapiro Didway in association with JRJ&A . The garden is intended to be a viewing and strolling garden for patients undergoing chemotherapy. Key features of the garden include; multi-level planters, two water features, seating and a labyrinth. A ten-foot high, thirtyfoot long stone water wall is the visual focal point of the garden. Informal seating areas have been located throughout the garden for patients and staff to enjoy during summer months. Two roof gardens have been created on the fi rst fl oor of the new building. One garden is a multi-purpose area with seating areas, plantings and stone berms. An adjacent roof garden consists of geometric areas of stone and is for viewing only
